MeritCare Celebrates 100 Years
They came from the mountains and valleys, fjords and the rivers of Norway – immigrants whose impact in the Red River Valley would 100 years later result in the largest healthcare provider in the region, MeritCare Health System.

Dr. Olaf Sand and Dr. Nils Tronnes listened attentively as their friend, Dr. Christian Kachelmacher, told them of the many healthcare needs in North Dakota and Minnesota.
